When a student is absent parents/guardians should call the Attendance Office at 723-3875 extension 9 leaving student's first and last name along with the date and reason for absence.
- Excusable absences must be cleared by telephone call or a note from the parent/guardian within 72 hrs (3 days) of the student’s return.
- Medical Note. No more than 3 consecutive days of absence can be cleared for medical reasons. A Doctor's note must be provided for more than 3 consecutive days.
- For Medical Appointments. If the parent/guardian is aware of the appointment in advance, PLEASE inform teacher a day prior to the appointment. Parents MUST come to the office first to sign out students at ALL TIMES.
- Early/Late Student Pick Up. If you’re picking up your child early from school, the only valid excuses are if your child has a medical or dental appointment. Parents/Guardians must bring a Doctor’s note the following school day.
- Students MUST be picked up on time everyday. If your child is not picked up on time the school will call Hayward Police Department.
- Tardy Procedures* Students are expected to arrive to school on time. Students who are late will served after school detention on schedule dates for one hour.
- Truancy. Students who are repeatedly absent or tardy more than 30 minutes will be referred to the school district Child Welfare and Attendance department.
